North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum revealed in a recent phone call with former President Donald Trump that there could potentially be a Cabinet role for him in the future. Despite being a former primary challenger to Trump, Burgum was previously considered as a possible vice presidential pick before Sen. JD Vance was selected as the running mate.
During an interview with PBS News’ Geoff Bennett, Burgum emphasized that any Cabinet roles for him would only be possible if Trump is re-elected. He highlighted his background in technology and the importance of AI in governance, suggesting that he could add value in that area.
When discussing Trump’s path to victory in the electoral college, Burgum stressed the need for attracting independent voters and promoting unity within the party. He acknowledged the importance of Trump’s shift towards a message of unity in his recent speeches and expressed optimism about the impact it could have on independent voters.
