Uzbekistan and US Discuss Financing Infrastructure Projects for Trans-Caspian Transport Route
In a recent meeting between Uzbekistan and the US, discussions were held regarding financing infrastructure projects to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriev met with Acting Special Coordinator for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI), Helaina Matza, to review the progress of the projects.
The focus was on enhancing transport and logistics infrastructure while attracting private financing. Plans include the development of multimodal logistics centers, A-class warehouses, and increasing railway station capacities in Uzbekistan’s regions.
Helaina Matza is on a visit to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to further enhance US-led efforts in strategic infrastructure investments along the Middle Corridor. She will engage with government officials and private sector partners to explore potential projects and financing opportunities.
