The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken a stand against the Supreme Court’s proposal to appoint retired judges as ad hoc members to address the backlog of cases, labeling it as a strategy to manipulate the bench. Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub Khan emphasized that the appointment of ad hoc judges would not significantly reduce the backlog and urged the judges to reject the offer to avoid being seen as ‘rubber stamps’.
Additionally, the PTI has condemned the recent hike in fuel prices, stating that it will further intensify the struggles of the already burdened population. The party criticized the government for its alleged incompetence and mistreatment of its citizens, accusing it of using fuel and electricity prices as a form of state extortion.
The spokesperson highlighted the drastic increase in petrol and diesel prices since the change in government, pointing out the negative impact on people’s lives and the economy. The PTI announced plans for a large public movement to demand accountability and address the issues of inflation and economic decline.
