President Erdogan links failed 2016 coup to Turkey’s pro-Palestine stance in 80 characters.

In a powerful speech marking the anniversary of the 2016 failed coup attempt in Türkiye, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan revealed that the attempt was essentially sparked by the country’s unwavering support for Palestine.

Erdogan highlighted that as Türkiye’s foreign policy deviated from the norm, global powers, particularly the “Zionist lobby,” grew uneasy. The coup attempt, orchestrated by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), resulted in the tragic loss of 252 lives.

Despite the passage of eight years, Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye’s resolve against FETO and external influence remains unwavering. He also referenced a heated encounter with then-Israeli President Shimon Peres, symbolizing Türkiye’s strong stance on the Palestinian cause.

Erdogan’s message resonated with a deep-rooted commitment to upholding democracy and national unity in Türkiye, echoing a sentiment shared by the nation as it commemorates the brave individuals who stood against the coup attempt.
