Pakistan has summoned the Deputy Head of Mission of the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad to demand decisive action against terrorists responsible for the recent attack on Bannu Cantonment. The attack claimed the lives of eight security personnel, prompting Pakistan to issue a strong demarche to Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concerns over the use of Afghan soil for carrying out terror attacks and called for swift action against the outlawed Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group based in Afghanistan. This group, along with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has been involved in numerous deadly attacks in Pakistan.
Pakistan urged the interim Afghan government to fully investigate and take immediate action against the perpetrators of the Bannu attack. The country remains committed to combating terrorism and upholding its security against all threats to regional peace and security.
In a related development, Pakistan security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on Bannu Cantonment, killing all 10 attackers. The attackers tried to infiltrate the cantonment but were repelled, resulting in the martyrdom of eight security personnel.\
