Exciting news for evacuees from the north and south! The National Insurance Institute has announced an agreement to extend housing grants until the end of August, with the possibility of automatic payments continuing until 2024 pending government extensions of evacuation orders.
The Labor and Welfare Committee in the Knesset will need to approve this extension, as the initial agreement had the payment deadline set at the end of June 2024.
Under this agreement, evacuees will receive 100 NIS per child and 200 NIS per adult daily in housing grants. The National Insurance Institute has already paid out 3.5 billion NIS to 240,209 residents of the affected areas, providing much-needed financial support during this difficult time.
