Addressing the Ongoing Medical Student Crisis: Minister Miraoui’s Response

Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, addressed the persistent issue during a recent session in the House of Councillors.
Despite government efforts to meet medical students’ demands, including boycotting exams, Minister Miraoui highlighted the prolonged crisis and criticized the students for backtracking on agreements. Issues such as the length of medical training, thesis-related problems, and third-cycle medical specialty training were addressed, with the government striving to find solutions to satisfy student concerns.
Minister Miraoui emphasized the importance of aligning training with international standards to enhance the national health system. He assured students that their worries about studies and internships were considered, with various enhancements like artificial intelligence and increased supervised internship hours being implemented for quality training.
