Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has appointed three second-class Emirs for the emirates of Rano, Gaya, and Karaye. These appointments are effective immediately, with the new emirates serving as second-class to Kano, which remains a first-class emirate.
The newly appointed Emirs are Alhaji Muhammad Karaye for Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Umar for Rano, and Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir Gaya for Gaya. Governor Yusuf urged them to promote culture, peace, and unity within their respective emirates.
The newly established emirates cover specific local government areas, with Rano including Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure, Gaya covering Gaya, Ajingi, and Albasu, and Karaye encompassing Karaye and Rogo.
