In his latest campaign speech, President Joe Biden emphasized the importance of maintaining honesty while also striving for political peace. Addressing the NAACP convention in Las Vegas, Biden expressed gratitude for the safety of former President Donald Trump following an assassination attempt.
Biden called for a national conversation on reducing political tensions, condemning violence, and promoting unity among Americans. Despite this plea for calm, Biden did not shy away from criticizing Trump’s policies, particularly highlighting the negative impact on Black Americans. He spoke out against Trump’s actions on the economy, healthcare, and gun violence, stating that his presidency was detrimental to the well-being of Black communities.
Furthermore, Biden reiterated his stance against violence in all forms, referencing the tragic death of George Floyd and the prevalence of gun-related deaths among children in the US. He called for stricter gun control measures, advocating for the banning of assault weapons like the AR-15, which was used in the attempted assassination of Trump.
