Ukrainian startups building robot army against Russia

Ukrainian startups are leading the way in creating cost-effective robots for combat missions, demining, evacuation, and other military tasks. According to AP, Ukraine is utilizing innovation to build a robot army to enhance its defense capabilities against Russia.

The country hosts approximately 250 defense startups operating in secret locations resembling rural workshops, producing efficient unmanned ground vehicles at a fraction of the cost of imported models. For instance, UkrPrototyp can assemble the Odyssey UGV in just four days for $35,000, significantly cheaper than its foreign counterparts.

These startups, like UkrPrototyp, aim to save lives by developing versatile robots that can aid in rescue operations or be equipped for combat. While concerns exist regarding the ethical implications of using drones and AI in warfare, Ukraine’s innovative approach is proving effective on the battlefield. Ukrainian forces, utilizing drones, have successfully neutralized more enemy tanks than with traditional anti-tank missiles.
