Fear struck Ibaka residents in Mbo Local Government Area as gunmen abducted eight individuals, including a Naval Rating, at Classic Point Hotel. The victims were seized on Monday night, causing panic in the community.
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, confirmed the incident, stating that the Commissioner of Police, Waheed Ayilara, promptly led a team to address the situation. The Navy in Akwa Ibom has yet to comment on the matter.
Just days earlier, a bus driver and 18 passengers traveling from Uyo to Port Harcourt were also kidnapped, their whereabouts unknown. These events have left the region on edge, awaiting updates on the safety of the victims.
