Safadi emphasized the urgent need to end the violence and achieve peace for the region, specifically through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.
Safadi highlighted Jordan’s commitment to peace and the two-state solution, despite the lack of a willing Israeli partner. He condemned the recent atrocities in Gaza, calling for accountability and adherence to international law. Safadi also addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the vital role of UNRWA in providing aid and hope to Palestinians.
Bettel commended Jordan’s efforts in hosting refugees and discussed the important partnership between Jordan and Luxembourg within the EU framework. Both ministers reaffirmed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of a two-state solution for lasting peace in the region.
