Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, has announced his plans to donate approximately $45 million per month to a new pro-Trump super PAC, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Musk intends to support the America PAC, which backs former President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign. Despite his intentions to start donations in July, Musk’s name was not listed in the group’s recent filing, which revealed over $8 million in contributions.
Other notable donors to America PAC include Lonsdale Enterprises and the Winklevoss Twins. Lonsdale contributed $1 million, while Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss each gave $250,000. This move by Musk solidifies his alignment with right-wing politics and provides Trump with a prominent supporter ahead of the upcoming election.
Supporting Trump’s Re-election
Musk and Lonsdale have not responded to requests for comments on their donations. Recently, Musk publicly endorsed Trump for the first time, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting the former president’s bid for the White House. Trump, in turn, has selected Ohio Senator J.D. Vance as his vice presidential running mate for the upcoming election.
