The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) has officially opened the new Dsegh Health Center in the village of Dsegh, Lori region. The opening ceremony was attended by government officials, residents from Dsegh and neighboring communities, and COAF’s CEO Liana Ghaltakchyan. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, COAF has launched a pilot program at the health center to reform primary healthcare in rural areas, aiming to provide high-quality care, improve health outcomes, and establish a sustainable model for rural health services.
The event featured speeches, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a tour of the new center. The modern facility includes a laboratory, consultation and emergency rooms, a waiting area, and a dental wing, serving approximately 4,000 residents in Dsegh and neighboring communities. The Governor of Lori expressed gratitude for the project, while the Minister of Health highlighted the effective collaboration that led to the center’s development.
COAF has been dedicated to improving rural life in Armenia since 2004, with investments impacting over 100,000 people in more than 82 villages. The Dsegh Health Center is a critical initiative in response to the pandemic and reflects COAF’s ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare in Armenia.
