Breaking Boundaries: Baku Congress to Unite Movements for Independence
On July 17-18, Baku will make history by hosting the first Congress bringing together leaders from over 15 political parties and movements advocating for the independence of territories impacted by French colonialism. Organized by the People’s Union for the Liberation of Guadeloupe and supported by the Baku Initiative Group, the event aims to create a united platform for the struggle for independence.
Participants from Corsica, Melanesia, Polynesia, the Caribbean, and the Antilles will gather to discuss strategies to overcome French colonialism and raise awareness of the injustices faced by Indigenous peoples in these territories. The Congress will also welcome organizations from Dutch colonies as guests of honor, highlighting the global reach of the independence movement.
The Baku Initiative Group has been at the forefront of supporting freedom movements, organizing international conferences to eliminate colonialism. The Congress in Baku marks a significant step towards empowering marginalized communities and challenging the remnants of colonial rule in the 21st century.
