In a recent op-ed for The Telegraph, exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi criticized the Iranian Islamic regime as “rattled, weak, and desperate.” He highlighted the need for listing the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization and urged the UK to take action.
Pahlavi discussed the new Iranian president, Masoud Pezeshkian, cautioning that despite being labeled a reformist, his loyalty to the Supreme Leader and hard-line policies of the regime are concerning. He emphasized the radical nature of the regime and its impact on the Iranian people.
The Crown Prince called for global accountability for the regime’s crimes, including terrorism and human rights abuses. He praised Canada for listing the IRGC as a terrorist organization and urged the UK to follow suit.
Pahlavi proposed a shift towards supporting the Iranian people in their quest for democracy, emphasizing the importance of backing internal opposition to bring about change. He envisioned a democratic Iran living in peace and prosperity with international support.
By taking decisive action against the IRGC and supporting the Iranian people, Pahlavi believes that positive change in Iran is not only possible but inevitable.
