The Group Executive Officer of NNPC, Mele Kyari, predicts that Nigeria will become a net exporter of petroleum by December. This was discussed during a meeting with key stakeholders like the Ministers of Finance and State Petroleum, among others.
Kyari highlighted the upcoming production of refineries in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna, indicating a boost in the country’s oil production. He also mentioned plans to reach 2 million barrels per day soon, thanks to strategic actions taken.
Furthermore, Kyari expressed confidence in Nigeria’s potential to be a net petroleum exporter by the end of the year, with contributions from domestic refineries and the Dangote refinery. The CBN governor also assured a positive shift in economic challenges like inflation, exchange rates, and food prices.
The government’s ongoing efforts in budget implementation and labor negotiations were noted, with a call for perseverance from the Chairman of the Committee to stabilize the economy amidst gradual improvements.
