Israeli Attack on UN School in Gaza
On Sunday, at least 15 people were killed in an Israeli bombardment of a UN-run school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Gaza. The Abu Oreiban School, run by UNRWA, was targeted in the Nuseirat refugee camp, with 80 others injured. Witnesses reported that children and women were among the victims.
The Israeli army claimed the school was used for attacks against its forces, but the international community condemned the attack as a massacre. This comes amid ongoing offensive by Israel in Gaza, resulting in thousands of Palestinian casualties and widespread destruction.
Israel is facing accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, with a recent ruling ordering an immediate halt to military operations. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with a blockade limiting access to food, water, and medicine.
