Israel aims to change rules of war | Israel-Palestine strife

Did you know that Wikipedia has a page dedicated to the “List of Israeli assassinations”? Spanning over 68 years, the majority of individuals on this list are Palestinians, including well-known leaders such as Ghassan Kanafani and Abu Jihad. Over the years, the number of Israeli assassinations has surged significantly, highlighting a concerning trend of increased violence.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently celebrated an attempted assassination in Gaza, which resulted in the death of numerous Palestinian civilians. This event underscores the ongoing cycle of violence perpetuated by Israeli leaders to pander to their constituents rather than achieving lasting solutions.

The evolution of Israel’s military strategies since the early 2000s has seen a shift towards more aggressive and indiscriminate tactics, resulting in mass civilian casualties. This disregard for international laws and norms raises serious ethical concerns about the future of warfare and the protection of civilian lives.

As Israel continues to push the boundaries of proportionality in its military operations, the global community faces a critical juncture in upholding the principles of humanitarian law. The need for accountability and respect for human rights has never been more urgent in order to prevent further atrocities.
