Exciting news as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially launched the second phase of the women empowerment initiative in Kano State with a disbursement of N260 million. The initiative, which began in May 2024, aims to support small-scale businesses by providing N50,000 monthly to 5,200 women across the 44 local government areas.
The beneficiaries, carefully selected from both rural and urban areas, will receive the empowerment funds on a monthly basis to ensure a wider impact. Governor Yusuf emphasized that the initiative aligns with his commitment to human development and the eradication of poverty in the state.
Emphasizing transparency, the Governor warned against corrupt practices in the distribution process and urged the recipients to utilize the funds wisely. Expressing gratitude for the support received, he underscored the importance of women in the political landscape.
This phase targets 100 women from each of the 36 local government areas and 200 women from the metropolitan areas of Kano. The Governor handed out dummy cheques to the beneficiaries, marking a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing empowerment programs.
