Two Russian Warships in China for Naval Drills

Two Russian warships have docked in Zhanjiang, China for joint naval exercises, strengthening their alliance amid global tensions.

Since the conflict in Ukraine, China and Russia have grown closer, aiming to diminish Western influence.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the participation in Exercise Interaction Maritime 2024, focusing on anti-air and anti-submarine attacks.

While the two nations regularly conduct joint military drills, their coordination falls short of NATO standards, as per EU Institute for Security Studies.

Notably, a previous joint exercise was held near Alaska last year, showcasing their strategic cooperation.
