Turkey criticizes Israeli FM’s remark about Turkish president.

Turkey strongly condemned Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz for his disrespectful remarks about President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, labeling them as lies and slander. The Turkish Foreign Ministry criticized Israel for perpetuating violence and instability in the region to prolong its power.

The ministry urged Israel to stop the atrocities in Gaza and agree to a permanent cease-fire, emphasizing Turkey’s support for Palestinian rights. The criticism came after Katz’s social media post targeting Erdogan for his stance against NATO cooperation with Israel.

Israel has faced international condemnation for defying a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate cease-fire, with over 38,000 Palestinians killed, mostly women and children, and 88,000 others injured. The ongoing offensive has left vast areas of Gaza destroyed and under a severe blockade.

Accused of genocide, Israel was ordered by the International Court of Justice to halt its military operation in the city of Rafah, where over a million Palestinians sought refuge before it was invaded.
