In a recent interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the importance of international partners providing the necessary military equipment and ammunition to change the battlefield situation in Ukraine.
Kuleba highlighted that a combination of various weapons, including F-16 fighter jets, air defense systems, main battle tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery ammunition, is essential to significantly impact the ongoing conflict. He stated that the collective effort of these weapons can be a game changer in the conflict.
Specifically addressing the F-16 fighter jets, Kuleba noted that they would strengthen Ukraine’s air force capabilities and enhance the efficiency of countering Russian fighter jet deployments in Ukrainian skies.
The first batch of F-16 fighter jets is expected to be delivered to Ukraine in the coming weeks, following a joint statement by U.S. President Joe Biden, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, and Danish PM Mette Frederiksen.
