Kazakhstan and Georgia discuss increasing cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route
In a recent meeting, Kazakhstan and Georgia explored ways to enhance cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor. The discussion involved Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Georgia Malik Murzalin and First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili.
The two parties highlighted the importance of Georgian participation in the development of the route. Murzalin shared insights on Kazakhstan’s socio-economic reforms and invited Georgian companies to invest in the Kazakh market. In response, Davitashvili emphasized Kazakhstan’s role as a friendly partner and noted the significant increase in trade turnover between the two countries.
Furthermore, tourism emerged as a key area of cooperation, with Kazakhstan being Georgia’s 8th largest trading partner and a significant source of tourists. The Middle Corridor, offering a land route connecting Asia and Europe, presents a strategic alternative to traditional maritime routes.
