Iran’s Pezeshkian praises Russia, China friendship & rejects U.S. pressure – Ya Libnan

Iran’s President-elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasized that Iran will not respond to pressure from the United States in a statement published recently. He also highlighted Iran’s friendly relations with China and Russia, emphasizing that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons and is open to expanding ties with neighbors and engaging with Europe.

Pezeshkian, a moderate who won the election against a hardline rival, aims to promote a pragmatic foreign policy and ease tensions over stalled nuclear negotiations with major powers. However, with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei holding ultimate authority in Iran, some Iranians doubt his ability to fulfill promises. Despite this, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude towards China and Russia’s support during challenging times and vowed to enhance cooperation with them and support efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Replacing Ebrahim Raisi, Pezeshkian faces the daunting task of reversing the economic chaos inflicted by the previous administration, with the rial’s value depreciating significantly. Despite these challenges, Pezeshkian remains determined to engage constructively on the international stage while asserting Iran’s rights in the region.

Overall, Pezeshkian’s victory signals a desire for change in Iran, and he extends an open invitation to all who share his vision for a better future.
