New Delhi: The BJP criticized the Congress and its allies for opposing the Centre’s decision to observe June 25 as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas,’ accusing them of prioritizing power over principles. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted the hypocrisy of those condemning the observance, suggesting they are willing to associate with anarchy for political gain.
Trivedi challenged RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav to clarify their stance on the JP movement, exposing the opportunistic nature of their objections. The remarks were in response to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s comments, wherein he compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure to the Emergency period.
The RJD criticized the BJP for declaring ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas,’ accusing them of attempting to distract from electoral setbacks. RJD MP Manoj Jha demanded the declaration of ‘Gandhi Hatya Diwas’ on January 30 and urged the BJP to reflect on their actions.
Trivedi defended the observance of ‘Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas’ as essential to acknowledge the dark days of Emergency, criticizing the Congress for historic constitutional violations.
