West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence `Matoshree’ in the Bandra area. Banerjee expressed concerns about the stability of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and hinted that it might not complete its term.
During the visit, Banerjee mentioned that she would also be meeting NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar. She held a joint press conference with Thackeray where she remarked about the instability of the current government.
Shiv Sena (UBT) and Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress are both part of the Opposition’s INDIA grouping. The meeting between Banerjee and Thackeray marks their first interaction post the Lok Sabha elections.
