Master Sergeant (Res.) Valeri Chefonov, a vehicle officer in the IDF, tragically lost his life in a Hezbollah drone strike in the western Galilee. The death toll in the army has now reached 682 since October 7, highlighting the ongoing conflict in the region.
Dr. Khaled Attalla, from the Galilee Medical Center, provided details on the injuries sustained by the soldier and the efforts made to save his life, unfortunately resulting in his passing.
The attack, which involved multiple drones crossing from Lebanon, caused widespread panic in the upper and western Galilee areas. Footage from Kibbutz Kabri displayed the aftermath of the strike, with damaged vehicles and property.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack in response to alleged Israeli actions in southern Lebanon. The IDF remains vigilant against further threats, successfully intercepting aerial targets from Lebanon.
