Zamfara State Governor Issues Executive Order Restricting Movement of Motorcycles
In a bid to enhance security measures and combat banditry, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has signed an executive order limiting the movement of motorcycles in the state. The order prohibits the use of motorcycles from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am, with strict instructions for security agencies to enforce this restriction.
The decision was made during an emergency Security Council meeting, where the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed that the Attorney General, Abdul’aziz Sani SAN, presented and the governor subsequently assented to Executive Order No. 07, 2024.
This move aims to safeguard the lives and property of residents and intensify efforts to address security challenges. Violators of this order will face arrest and prosecution, as authorized by the Attorney General of Zamfara State. By implementing this measure, the government seeks to strengthen the fight against banditry and uphold the welfare of its citizens.
