President Yoon Suk-yeol made a significant speech at the US Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii, denouncing North Korea for its global threats through illegal weapon trade with Russia. He emphasized the importance of strong alliances and cooperation against such threats, citing the KORUS alliance and trilateral meetings between Korea, Japan, and the US. Yoon highlighted the role of the Indo-Pacific Command in maintaining security on the Korean Peninsula and presented Adm. Samuel Paparo with a prestigious medal for his contributions to defense readiness.

Yoon’s visit marked the first time a South Korean president visited the command in 29 years, showcasing the importance of the alliance.
