German politician and member of the German Bundestag Sarah Wagenknecht slammed the US plans to deploy long-range weapons in Germany as “insane,” according to Der Spiegel.

“The deployment of American long-range weapons on German soil does not raise our security, but, on the contrary, increases the risk for Germany to become a theatre of war with dire consequences for everyone who lives here. This madness must stop,” Wagenknecht noted.
Wagenknecht emphasized the need for a government that prioritizes Germany’s interests over the wishes of the US, warning that the US would not directly suffer in the event of a major war in Europe resulting from their actions.
The US plans to begin deploying long-range weapons in Germany in 2026, with these weapons having a greater range than those currently in Germany’s possession.
