Officials Send Strong Messages at Potocari Event

Leaders from around the world gathered to send messages of peace and reconciliation in the aftermath of the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Munira Subašić, president of the Movement of the Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa enclave, emphasized the importance of preventing such atrocities from happening again.

Denis Bećirović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, paid tribute to the victims and highlighted the courage of the mothers of Srebrenica. He stressed the need for unity in the face of evil and injustice.

The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, urged society to reject any attempts to minimize the genocide. Member of the Presidency, Željko Komšić, expressed the emotional impact of the commemoration and the importance of honoring the victims.

Leaders and officials reiterated the importance of remembering the victims and working towards true reconciliation to prevent such tragedies in the future. The world must unite to ensure that the memory of the genocide in Srebrenica serves as a reminder and a warning for peace and justice.
