NGOs on high alert for increasing Nasser insecurity

In Nasser County, authorities are calling for a halt in NGO movement after an alleged attack by the SSPDF on humanitarian workers. County Commissioner Duon Kun Thian condemned the attack, where soldiers fired at Goal International staff on a boat, but thankfully no one was injured. The incident raises concerns about security in the area. Another shooting near a hospital claimed a life on the same day, with conflicting reports blaming communal feuds.

Despite denial from the SSPDF spokesperson, Thian stressed the importance of protecting aid workers, urging for a violence-free environment for them to operate. The authorities are investigating the motives behind the attacks and enhancing security measures to ensure the safety of those providing crucial assistance to vulnerable communities.
