In a significant move, NATO allies announced the transfer of F-16 jets to Ukraine, strengthening Kyiv’s defense against Russia. However, the summit aimed to bolster NATO’s role in coordinating arms delivery to Ukraine, with a promise of 40 billion euros in military aid within the year.
‘Irreversible’ Path to NATO
The summit reaffirmed Ukraine’s path to full Euro-Atlantic integration and eventual NATO membership, despite concerns over destabilizing the region. With China also under scrutiny for supporting Russia, the summit showcased a united front against Russian aggression.
