Milwaukee station apologizes for editing Biden interview

A Milwaukee radio station recently admitted to editing parts of an interview with President Biden at the campaign’s request. Civic Media, the station, revealed that they removed segments they deemed “non-substantive” before airing the interview conducted by host Earl Ingram on July 3.

Although initially reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Ingram did not respond to further inquiries from The Daily Beast. The edited portions of the interview included Biden’s claims about diversity in his administration and a response regarding Trump’s stance on the Central Park Five case.

The station issued an apology for falling short of journalistic standards, citing a difference in handling the campaign’s request. Despite the controversy, Civic Media stood by Ingram and his team, acknowledging their contribution as a vital voice in the city.

It was revealed that other hosts, including Andrea Lawful-Sanders from WURD, also accepted pre-approved questions from the Biden campaign for their interviews. The campaign defended the practice, stating that hosts are free to ask any questions they see fit.
