President Milei blames lawmakers for government delays
President Javier Milei criticized Congress during a speech at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange’s 170th Anniversary celebrations. He warned of vetoing any legislation that threatens the government’s fiscal balance. Milei attributed the rising blue exchange rate between the local peso and the US dollar to reckless spending and fiscal mismanagement.
Milei, an economist, pointed out flaws in understanding inflation among policymakers. He emphasized the importance of zero deficits for long-term solvency and criticized lawmakers for hindering economic progress. Milei also praised Economy Minister Luis Toto Caputo for the government’s achievements since taking office.
The President outlined plans to align inflation and devaluation rates to achieve economic stability and emphasized the importance of controlling public spending and maintaining fiscal discipline.
