A shocking scandal has rocked Melbourne, as government contractor Tyler Garth, 25, faces 292 charges including fraud, misconduct, and perverting the course of justice. The accused allegedly altered hundreds of driving fines, some linked to bikie and Middle Eastern gangs, during her time working for Civica, which manages Fines Victoria’s contact center.
Police claim Garth abused her position to modify driving penalty notices and received payments for the altered fines. Detective Senior Constable Rhett Killeen revealed that evidence was discovered on mobile phones of two criminal associates, suggesting up to 2500 fines may have been affected.
With potential additional charges looming for Garth, the impact of her actions could be significant. The accused, currently on bail, is set to appear in court on July 18 amid ongoing investigations into the scandal.
