Ukraine Signs Deal with U.S. Company for Ammunition Production
Ukraine’s state-owned defense company, Ukroboronprom, has partnered with U.S. weapons manufacturer Northrop Grumman to produce ammunition, expanding into tank ammo and artillery shells. The goal is to localize production and reduce reliance on foreign supplies.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between President Zelensky and top U.S. defense companies in Washington. Plans include joint production of medium-caliber NATO-standard ammunition and discussions on defense equipment maintenance.
Kyiv aims for similar partnerships with other countries, having previously signed agreements for co-production of weapons. In a move to strengthen defense ties, Ukroboronprom has opened a representative office in Washington.
