Kazakhstan introduces initiatives for Middle Corridor development in Bulgaria

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 11. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Bulgaria recently hosted a forum centered around “Transport links between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria”. The event saw participation from over 20 representatives of Bulgarian transport companies.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria, Viktor Temirbayev, highlighted Kazakhstan’s strategic geographical location in the heart of Eurasia and its role in forming transcontinental routes, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). He discussed Kazakhstan’s efforts to enhance cargo transportation along the TITR and develop a new road route through Turkmenistan, Iran, Türkiye, Bulgaria, and Romania for efficient goods transport to EU countries.

Bulgarian participants emphasized the importance of heightened cooperation in the transport and logistics sector amid the current geopolitical situation. The Middle Corridor, connecting Asia and Europe through Central Asian countries, offers an efficient land route bypassing longer maritime paths.
