Hezbollah could outmatch Israel’s air defense in attack

A recent report by The Washington Post revealed Hezbollah’s extensive arsenal, including guided and unguided rockets, antitank artillery, ballistic and anti-ship missiles, and explosive-laden drones. Analysts estimate Hezbollah possesses 130,000 to 150,000 rockets and missiles, surpassing its ally Hamas in Gaza. With over 100,000 soldiers, Hezbollah’s military capabilities pose a significant threat.

The majority of Hezbollah’s weapons may be low-grade, but they could overwhelm Israel’s air defense systems. In the event of a full military conflict, Israel’s Iron Dome could be at risk of saturation attacks. Fabian Hinz from the International Institute for Strategic Studies raised concerns about Israel’s limited interceptor supply post-Gaza war.

Hezbollah’s guided ballistic missiles, with a range of up to 185 miles, could target major Israeli cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. This report underscores the escalating tensions in the region and the need for strategic defense planning.
