Gaza City hospitals to reopen following Israeli evacuation orders

Two hospitals in Gaza City are set to resume operations on Thursday after being forced out of service by Israeli attacks. The Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital and the Public Aid Hospital will reopen, providing much-needed medical services to patients in the area. These facilities had to suspend operations earlier due to Israeli evacuation orders and airstrikes in the vicinity.

The Israeli army’s deliberate targeting of hospitals in the Gaza Strip has drawn international condemnation, with over 38,300 Palestinians killed and almost 88,300 others injured since the conflict escalated in October 2023. The ongoing offensive by Israel, in violation of a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate cease-fire, has left many parts of Gaza in ruins, with a severe shortage of essential resources like food and medicine.

Accusations of genocide have been leveled against Israel at the International Court of Justice, with calls to halt the military operations in cities like Rafah, where many Palestinians sought refuge before being invaded. The resumption of hospital services in Gaza City is a much-needed relief for the residents amidst the ongoing conflict.
