2 Aussies and Filipina killed in PH hotel, officials say
Tragedy struck in Tagaytay City, Philippines, as two Australian nationals and their Filipina companion were found dead in a hotel room. The victims, their hands and feet bound, were discovered by a hotel worker at the Lake Hotel. The male Australian had his throat slit, while the two women appeared to have been suffocated with a pillow.

Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the killings, with some of the victims’ valuables left untouched. The victims were identified as an Australian man in his 50s, his Filipina partner, and her relative. Security footage is being reviewed to identify the suspect or suspects.

The victims were on a holiday in Bali before heading to the Philippines to visit family. Tagaytay, a popular tourist spot known for its cool weather, was meant to be a brief stop before their return to Australia.

The Australian government will repatriate the man’s remains while the women will be buried in the Philippines as per their relatives’ wishes. Condolences and consular assistance have been offered to the families by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
