The Visakhapatnam Junction station redevelopment work is set to start soon, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foundation stone laying more than 10 months ago.
The project cost, estimated at Rs 456 crore, includes the construction of the new station building on the Gnanapuram side. Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat mentioned plans for the South Coast Railway Zone, making Visakhapatnam its headquarters.
With discussions ongoing about suitable land for the project, the redevelopment aims to revitalize the region. The NDA government’s initiatives, including a new sand supply strategy, will benefit workers and boost the construction sector.
