A tragic incident in al-Maghlaff district, Hodeida, led to the death of Major Yasser Abdullah Abduh Maqbil al-Habboub, head of criminal investigations. The security forces were trying to arrest a suspect, Ali Mahdi Ali Hafidi, accused of shooting at a citizen’s home. Upon arrival at the village, they were met with gunfire from the suspect, resulting in Major al-Habboub’s death and injuries to three officers.
The suspect, Hafidi, was eventually killed in an exchange of gunfire after refusing to surrender. The police expressed condolences to the martyr’s family and wished for the quick recovery of the injured officers. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining security, stability, and public order, protecting the lives and property of citizens.
