The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions, in collaboration with the International Labor Organization, introduced a centralized electronic contract platform for all workers in private schools and kindergartens. This initiative aims to enhance labor rights and address legal violations, particularly those affecting female workers.
The platform, developed through a partnership with various parties and support from the International Labor Organization, aligns with the collective agreement signed with the Owners of Private Schools Association. It includes new benefits like extending contract duration to 12 months and offering electronic wallets for salary transfers.
The system eliminates the need for paper contracts and ensures all agreements are made electronically. It provides ease of use, security, and reliable payment options. Representatives from key organizations were involved in developing the platform to ensure transparency and coordination.
The launch of the platform received praise from various stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of protecting teachers’ rights and ensuring compliance with the unified contract. The move towards automation aims to provide better data, coordination, and social protection for workers in the private education sector.
