A military operation in the Golden Triangle region of Mexico led to the arrest of three men associated with Aureliano Guzman Loera, brother of infamous drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera. Known as “El Guano,” Aureliano is believed to lead the Gente del Guano faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. Along with the arrests, firearms and ammunition were seized.
Mexican authorities suspect El Guano of orchestrating violence in the area. Despite previous failed attempts to capture him, the recent operation resulted in the arrest of key figures, including El Guano’s security chief, Luis ‘N’ alias “R-8.” This confrontation sheds light on the ongoing power struggle within the Sinaloa Cartel, involving El Chapo’s sons and nephews.
El Guano, resembling his brother El Chapo, faces accusations of orchestrating violent acts and carrying out revenge killings. The U.S. Department of State has offered a $5 million reward for his capture. As El Guano’s profile within the cartel rises, his role in the criminal organization remains a point of interest for security analysts.
