Iraq court condemns ISIL leader’s widow to death: Judiciary ruling

The Wife of Baghdadi Sentenced to Death for Involvement with ISIL

After being detained in Turkey, the wife of the polygamous terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been brought back to Iraq and sentenced to death by the Karkh criminal court in west Baghdad. The Supreme Judicial Council confirmed her involvement with the Daesh terrorist group and her role in detaining Yazidi women in her house.

Asma Mohammed, identified as the wife of the slain ISIL leader, was accused of detaining Yazidis who were later kidnapped by ISIL terrorists in northern Iraq. Baghdadi was killed by US troops in Syria in 2019, five years after declaring a “caliphate” in Syria and Iraq.

This development sheds light on the ongoing efforts to bring justice to those involved in the atrocities committed by terrorist groups. The sentencing of Baghdadi’s wife serves as a reminder that individuals complicit in such crimes will be held accountable for their actions.
