Iran’s New President Set to Take Office on July 30 – Political Update

Exciting news from Iran as the swearing-in ceremony for President-elect Pezeshkian is set to take place on Tuesday, July 30. The ceremony will be attended by top political and military officials, as well as the head of the Supreme Court of Iran and members of the Constitutional Council.

According to parliamentary law, the new president must present his plans and introduce his ministers within two weeks after inauguration. Lawmakers will then spend a week discussing the credentials of the proposed ministers before holding a final session to vote on confidence.

Pezeshkian, elected as a representative of Tabriz, emerged as a candidate following the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi. Winning the highest number of votes in the first round and securing 53.66% in the runoff, Pezeshkian is set to lead the 14th administration since the Islamic Revolution.
