Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah al-Din Mostafa and Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad recently met to discuss their joint cooperation on municipal solid waste management. The meeting, held in the government district of the New Administrative Capital, focused on various projects aimed at transitioning to clean energy and preserving the environment.
Mostafa welcomed Fouad and her delegation, expressing confidence in her leadership of the Ministry of Environment. He highlighted the importance of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives and the Prime Minister’s oversight of solid waste management initiatives.
One project under discussion is the conversion of waste into electrical energy in Giza Governorate, with a capacity of 1200 tons/day producing 30 megawatts/hour. This initiative aims to improve living conditions, reduce pollution, and create a national industry for waste management, ultimately benefiting both the environment and the economy.
Both ministers are committed to overcoming challenges and implementing these projects swiftly to enhance the well-being of citizens and promote sustainable development.
