Russia will closely monitor the NATO summit in Washington, attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other world leaders, as stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Moscow will pay keen attention to the rhetoric and decisions made during the talks.
The summit, which coincides with NATO’s 75th anniversary, is expected to focus on arming Ukraine’s air defenses following a recent missile attack on a children’s hospital in Kyiv that resulted in 38 casualties. Peskov emphasized NATO’s view of Russia as an enemy and opponent, alleging the alliance’s direct involvement in the conflict on the side of Ukraine.
